You'll find The Salamander just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Our pub features a

well-stocked bar with a fine range of locally brewed Bath Ales, carefully selected wines, local ciders & premium spirits, including an extensive gin selection, served on the ground floor. Cosy corners to sit and eat, and plenty more seating upstairs.

The menu consists of traditional British pub classics such as fish & chips, kedgeree, toad in the hole, cider cooked ham, egg & chips, along side many more...

The pub attracts an eclectic mix of customers, and our staff are as happy to talk about our food & drink as they are leaving you to enjoy the Salamanders unique ambience.

The dining room is perfect for groups up to 32, to enjoy a more intimate setting or even tour groups looking to host beer tasting sessions and traditional dining experiences. Please enquire for details.

"Our hidden gem, tucked away in Bath’s City Centre - it’s small, snug but oh so special"

Our Food

We take pride in putting together a menu that features some old favourites blended with some dishes that you may not find on other pub menus. We use the best ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible, to create simple and tasty plates for you to savour.

Whether you want to grab a quick sandwich at lunchtime, treat yourself to a delicious dinner or a classic Sunday roast, we have it covered.

Our menus change to make the most of seasonal ingredients so feel free to download our sample menus for a taste of what we’re serving up this season.

"Carefully selected, locally sourced ingredients, creatively combined make our menu memorable"

Our Drinks

We are proud of our roots and serve a range of Bath Ales, alongside beers from further afield.

Try the celebrated "Gem" using traditional British malts, balanced soft fruits and bittersweet caramel with a soft, smooth bitterness. The modern "Prophecy" - Hints of lemon and lime from Citra and Aurora hops fulfil your expectations in this easy-drinking pale ale.

"Lansdown" - Named after a suburb of Bath, north of the city, which features an iconic hill of the same name with panoramic views over the city –  Lansdown is a contemporary, fresh and hoppy west-coast IPA.

Along with our draught lagers, Amstel, Sulis & Estrella we feature a range of local ciders too.

We serve up a fine selection of hand-picked wines and unexpected premium spirits.  Why not try a G&T made with Bath Gin & one of our Fever Tree tonic range?

Whatever you choose, you can be sure of a genuine welcome from one of team.

"Bath Ales" rich and diverse range is sure to satisfy lovers of each and every kind of real ale"
